Installing SS braided lines, issue with water return line.

So I have taka SS lines and for the water return (the one that runs behind the engine and along the fire wall) its one long hard line that goes into a rubber line closer to the intake manifold. The line I have for the return just has a hose clamp at the end, do I just cut the hard line and slide the ss line over it and tighten the clamp? Or is there more to this?
