my friend just got a 2008 pontiac g6 gxp and i found some lowering springs for sale. my first question is does anybody know if regular g6 springs would fit the gxp? i would think they have the same suspension. just want to make sure. also is a steering alignment needed? i just installed some on my s13 and didnt get one. idk seems useless. maybe not though? let me know. thanks guys

why are you asking a bunch of nissan head about GM cars? but you should;d get and alignment after you install springs.

well to be honest i didnt feel like signing up on a g6 forum just to ask them. idk just thought id ask. also why is a alignment needed? theres nothing adjustable that i removed to install my springs. everything was just a simple bolt through a hole. also any idea of how much a alignment costs?

alignments aren't typically cheap... i got lifetime alignments from firestone for $150... use it like twice and it pays for itself or something

you need an alignment because even if you don't notice a change... when lowering a vehicle the toe will be out of alignment... and the slightest bit of toe can cause terrible tire wear over a couple hundred to thousand miles

if the stance changes then the alignment changes too. So if he got lowering springs he will be out of alignment, it might not be that bad though. You could take pictures of the tires right after and then compare them to the tires after 1000 miles.
