ok i took one of my rear brakes off, actually my uncle did, and I didn't see exactly how he did it. Now im ready to put the brake pads on and its like a friggin puzzle from hell. I cant figure out how to put it all back together. Its mainly the two removable metal clips inside the rotor, im not sure how to position them so i can use them to put the brake pads in. does anyone know of a tutorial or guide or something that could help me out? thanks

are you talking about the shims, if so they just go on the outside of the pads

make sure you turn the rear piston in too

if this isnt what you were talking about, just say so,

If you're really stuck, it might help to take another tire off and look at an assembled brake setup, and use that for reference. Basically though its pretty simple... the pads slide into the calipers with the help of these little clips/shims, then the whole thing goes over the rotor and bolted down with 2 bolts I think. If the pads dont fit on and over the rotor, you need to back the caliper piston out so you have room for the rotor. On the fronts you can just press them in with a c-clamp or something, but the rears need to be twisted in like a screw. There is a tool for this.

Good luck man!

yeah, having probs with the shims. what i did was i just left out one of them and the brake pads still fit in pretty snug. I did the other side and put the pads on in 10 seconds. the other took me atleast 30min and i still didnt do it right, doesnt make sense... anyway i think im going to go back and try it again, doesnt feel right driving it like that. last night when i test drove it you could hear that side rubbing a little bit too, but it doesnt do it anymore, i know i didnt wear em down or anything that quick.

this might help the pad with the sensor goes on the inboard location r/h side if only one pad has a sensor on it.
