'90 KA24E I am using a dual band ratchet-type ring compressor. I have lubed the rings and compressor with oil and have tried positioning the piston up and down the whole chamber of the compressor but I beleive the OEM "bevel" at the top of the cylinder is allowing the top ring ( #1 ) to expand before it is in fully. I managed to get piston 4 in but no luck with any of the others. Please HELP

My suggestion: first make sure you have a couple extra rings. When you slide the piston through the compressor you have to do it kind of fast by tapping it firmly with a dead blow hammer or wooden handle of a hammer. This will prevent the rings from hanging up on the deck but sometimes can break rings if the compressor is not fully compressing the rings.
