I'm getting ready to order a 2010 Infiniti G37x sedan and plan to install a Passport 9500ci custom installed unit. I was wondering if anyone had experience with installing this detector (probably any G37 would be the same). Advice on installation? I was also wondering if the features of the technology package (adaptive cruise control in particular) would interfere with the function of the unit.

Thanks.

I installed one on my 09 Coupe back in the early fall and I absolutely LOVE it! It has already saved me from 2 lasers and a few direct radar hits.

I put the main hub under the front seat since I didn't want to clutter behind the dash (I have plans and might need the room up there). :D But the radar detector is on the aluminum bumper just behind the grill (just off center next to the logo). The front laser shifts are in my lower plastic mesh. I had to cut the plastic (dremel actually) and I just attached the clamps to the plastic mesh. That part took the longest since I wanted to ensure that my cuts were even and left as little of a gap around the sensors as possible. Getting those sensors level was actually harder than the cutting itself...

The display and the LED light are sitting bottom/center in my instrument cluster on top of the steering wheel column. I just used velcro so that I can hide the display if needed. The wire for the buttons come out of my parking brake area and the buttons are velcroed to the trim right next to the parking brake (towards the top). That way I can mute it with my hand which is usually down by the shift knob anyways)...plus, I wanted to keep the car as discrete looking and most people look near the stereo itself, not the parking brake. But I rarely hit the mute button anymore since the GPS function has memorized everything in town! Things are quite unless I am really getting hit with a gun. :

The rest is easy (even the rear sensor is easy to level out since it attaches to the lisence plate screws).

I'd show pictures but I'm deployed and can't for a few more months. Good luck though!

EDIT: Oh yeah...when I was first looking to do this, I remember coming across someone who had the tech package and said that the adaptive cruse control would set off the laser sensors. I think it was someone on myG37.com...but it might have been in here too. I can't confirm this since I didn't get that package. You can turn off the laser shifters but I don't think you can turn off the laser detector/alarm.
