just like the topic says, what would be involved in installing oil squirters in a CA?

reason being i found a CA for $75 ( long block FWD) and im gunna do the same thing that Longrain (on 240sxforums.com) is. n i DEFINATLEY want to run the squirters, but i gotta know what it takes, or if its possible to install them.

My biggest question would be as to whether the oil galley is there for the squirters. I would assume so, but I don't know for sure. If it is there, then somehow you've got to source the squirters, and I don't know where you're going to get them w/o buying a block. And if you've got a block, then why would you use the block w/o the squirters?

I'm not saying it can't be done, but I'm saying finding the squirters by themselves is going to be difficult.

seriously, finding a block with the oil squirters cant be that hard...or expensive. it sounds like a big hassle for something that could be had for just a little more money. by the time you have fitted all this junk you probably will have spent more than if you just went and got the "correct" block from the get go.

The gallery is there. The block casting starts out the same then the factory just drills and taps into the galleries for the squirters. You can do the same but you would need I would expect the following.

Squirter bodies and banjo bolts

Series of drill bits to get up to the correct size hole

Correct tap for the banjo bolt's thread pitch

I think it's called a "facing bit", not sure about that but it is a bit that will cut the seat around the hole flat so the squirter can seal the hole.

Not for the faint of heart to be sure but not impossible. Check sites that detail the RB30 DOHC head swap. Turbo blocks are getting scarce and many guys are upgrading NA blocks like this. There is bound to be a detailed writeup somewhere.
