Hey fellas,

I was wondering if any one can point me in the right direction with my install. I have just purchased a OEM gauge cluster, with boost, oil temp, voltage. The three quage setup is sweet, and I believe came out of a 300zx. Its white face, and matches my S14 guages perfectly. I have the harness connection, and the seller suggested in be wired into the stock harness..I will be wiring it into a S14 with a S13 swap. Thanks.

PS I will try and post some pics of the cluster. (its single din size)

well for one... for gauges to work you have to have sensors. So if you don't then you better get some and figure out how to wire them in properly.

300zx gauges are used in conjuction with the factory wiring harness. They have those sensors fromteh factory, thus they can display those gauges. Voltage is probably really easy to hook up, oil temp will be kinda nasty (not sure if w/e mtoor you will be using has an oil temp sensor) and the boost gauge on those is read electronically. They dont actually have a sensor for it, its a guess that the ecu makes (which is why Z people dont rely on stock gagues) and is really not accurate.

Yea, I just talked to a buddy, and he told me you need a sending unit for the guages...But the ECU makes a guess?? thats intersting. Its actually not oil temp, its oil pressure...my bad. Damn, I was hoping these guages would work. Any ideas? Anyone have experience here?

I'm way outta my league here, but I think the first step is to determine where those gauges came from. Then you can figure out if the KA sensors/sending units are compatible with the gauges. If they are, I think it would be a matter of disconnecting the inputs on your stock gauges and reconnecting them to the new gauges. If theyre not compatible, youre gonna need new sensors (obviously).Like candela said, the volt meter and oil pressure shouldnt be to hard, but I wouldnt know where to begin with the boost gauge.

BTW, you have an S14 with an S13 KA??

UPDATE!!! Ok I just found out the cluster I have is out of a s14 silvia k's. Its the 3 gauge cluster they installed. The guy I bought it from wired it up in his S13, but took it out. Does anyone know how to wire one of these up?
