just got my new radio cd and installed it. when I plug the wires in the fuse of the radio blows. why's that?? I only connected the ground wire, yellow that goes direct to the bat and the red that goes to the acc. just like the instructions told me. but my fuse keeps blowing. I tapped off the acc from my A/C, could that be the problem?? i'm really confused here

yellow is antenna and cannot be connected to a power source, ground or other. must be bare. red goes to positive on the battery or acc. like you said, and if you tapped the A/C, that may be why. you would be better off going from the key switch or somthing that turnes on when the car is running, fuel pump is just one thing that comes to mind but you would be better off attaching it to somthing else other then the pump.

yellow is battery constant on the head unit wiring harness, not antenna.

Anyway you def. ****ed something up so use a multimeter and figure it out.

yeah I just recheckd everything. yellow is pos bat. I took a wire straight from the bat. and took the acc fromthe cig lighter and yes the black wire I hooked up to the chassis and still blowsss. i'm now thinking it's just a factory faulty. welll i'll just bring it back and see what they can do

did you check your connections with a multimeter like I suggested?

yep. yellow wire connectedto the battery 12V regardless of key switch. the red one connected to the acc, just took a place in the fuse box and checked with a multimeter: 12V on acc and 0V when switched off and the black wire I connected to the chassis. Also what I did is I only connected the yellow wire to the bat and the ground put the plug in the radio and the fuse blew so it must be internals of the radio

if u have a wire running strait from the battt to the stereo, it may creating an overload. get power from the factory costant wire..
