Installing harness connectors, uclips. Tips?

So the injector and IACV, etc. connectors were very difficult to remove before I pulled my engine. Now I have to re-attach everything. Whats the best way to do it? The metal u-clips are the part I'm more concerned with. Seems impossible to attach them to the injector connectors way below the plenum. Are you supposed to put the u-clips on the harness connectors before you push them on or after?

Keep the clips on the connectors and push them into the mating sensors/injectors. They should click once attached.

Clips go on connectors before you push them on. I find it's easiest to put two flat head screw drivers inside the connector so that when you slide the clip on it doesn't snap into the middle and not click all the way in. If that makes sense at all
