I had never installed a body kit except for a new aftermarket fiberglass front end for my 1996 240SX recently. It took a while but I got it in there. I now have to deal with the side and rear lower skirts and prepping them. Rather than get someone to do all of the installation for me, I figured I can save a couple of bucks if I did the install and the initial prepping myself at least.

My questions are:

I have to drill holes into the fiberglass body to secure the skirts but because the fiberglass is slightly warped (due to shipping), can I use a hair dryer or some heating element to slowly bend them back to shape?

Also, how do I secure the top part of the skirts - is there any special adhesive I need to use to tack or bond it to the actual car body?

To fix small cracks and holes, what kind of material can you use on fiberglass to patch them, and is also sandable?

I did some initial search in and outside of the forums but found little information. If you got a great website to check, please post it.

Thanks.

if your not completely sure what you are doing, i would have a body shop do it. it will cost more but it will look a whole lot better. theres nothing uglier than a car with bodykit that doesnt line up and match.

3M sells a number of adhesives, including double sided tape, spray on adhesive, and the sorts for body work.

Sorry for the late reply. I'll play it smart and opt for a pro to do it. It will cost me a little more, but then again I don't have to deal with it.

Thanks guys...
