ok so i just got back my amp from mtx and i want to install a fan with it so that things dont get too hot back there and fry the amp like what happened before. i bought a comp fan from comp usa so how do i install it? more specifically, how do i hook it up? do i use the remote wire and then use the same ground that the amp is using?

thats the easiest way just mount the fan so it blows across the fins of the heat sink and wire it up to the remote turn on and ground or run it to 12 volts and ground and put a switch inbetween either power or ground doesn't matter remote turn on wire will kick the fan on whenever the amp powers up but if you wan to turn it on manually go with the switch setup

Yo jookmasta, one way to maximize the cooling efficiency of your fan is to blow the air across the amplifier and not directly on it. just a little fyi.

i just install a CPU fan on my amp tonight

and i use the amp remote wire connect to the fan + wire to turn the fan on/off

so when i turn on my deck, the fan will be on, if i take the face plate out, it will be off

do you guys think it's a good idea?? will it blow my amp or deck somehow?
