Where does it go and why to get an accurate in rail fuel pressure reading.

Lets argue

This is the gaugeDoes it go right after the fuel filter? Isnt this unregulated pressure?Does it go right after the fuel rail on the return line? Isnt this the regulated pressure?

I suppose the in rail pressure will be also in the feed line from the filter as well right? and that is the actual in rail pressure? Which means that the return line is feeding excess pressure and is not an important source for reading?

On what engine?

And I use one, its mainly to know whats going on. Some pumps may prime good pressure, but may fail to supply on demand past idle. So its good to know what your pressure are on the RPM scale in neutral and under load.

Diagnostics really

Nice Ninja edit (didn't have the photo before.

I dont like that gauge there. You can see the pressure on the RPM ranges, but not under-load. Unless you can stand on your engine, look at the gauge and work the throttle. I like an in car gauge.

omega. seriously.

DO RESEARCH. just look at engine bay pics. seriously dude, your threads are just dumb.

it goes between filter and rail. thats the pressure allowed INTO the rail. the regulator bleeds the excess pressure off.

you really REALLY need to brush up on basic automotive stuff and stop with these simpleton threads.

Yeah i have seen it installed after the filter and before the rail, it makes sense if it is actually showing the pressure going into the rail.

When you first think of it you think "Oh well its coming straight from the pump and this pressure its reading is not regulated" Or thats at least what i thought, given the fact that it will take a second or two for it to show the regulated In-rail pressure is something that i didnt initially think about.

Simple things are sometimes the hardest things to find during research, i research constantly haha.
