Ok so I am really interested in getting an Infinity Basslink Sub for my '02 LE. It has the stock Bose system. I am just wondering if anyone has or knows how to install this in a Pathfinder. I know there is the stock Bose amp right in the rear but not sure what i can tap into to feed the Basslink.

Thanks!

I was actually wondering about getting one of these eventually too.

Since you're still using the stock Bose system, you can probably tap in to the rear amp's wiring to transmit the sound to the Basslink as the stock stuff doesn't have RCA output. You would effectively only be running power from the battery, and creating some new wiring to interface with the Basslink and for grounding purposes. I have bypassed the stock Bose amp in my '01.5 without much issue, all it took was staring at the wiring diagrams and schematics in the factory service manual. Are you familiar with soldering or know anybody who is?

In my case, I would run RCA cables from my deck to the speaker, and run a thick power cable from the battery to the Basslink, and create a thick ground cable with ring terminal that screws in somewhere near where the stock Bose amp would be.

I was just planning on a simple install. So I would just tap into the rear wires by the Bose amp and use those for my inputs instead of running RCA jacks from the stock HU back. I have soldered before so that shouldnt be a problem. The only thing I would need to run front to back would be the Power On trigger wire and a Power cable.

Yeah just tap into the wiring in the trunk using the speaker-level input. That's the setup I had before I got an aftermarket HU.

Yep, you should have an easy time with that. The factory service manual has all the info you'll need. You can run a power cable through the clutch plate below the master cylinder (assuming you have an A/T). Drill a large enough hole, put a rubber grommet there, and you're set. You also do not need to run a power on wire, you can tap into the one for the stock rear amp. See my post on NPORA if you don't know which clutch plate I'm talking about.
