installing an electrical fan in a KA

hey guys. im trying to get an electrical fan to replace the old mechanical fan in the KA. anyone know where i can get one or know a good shop?/ site?/ etc.

I hear that any general auto-parts store will have numerous of these available.

I dont suppose you have AC do you?

well you dont really need to replace the mech fan... if you have a dohc ka, then your ecu should turn on your ac fan when your engine starts to get a little hotter than it should.

i've had my mech fan off for about 3 weeks now, and its been running smooth. NO MORE MECH FAN LOUD SOUNDS! yay

does anyone know if thats safe to remove your mechanical fan and not replace it with anything??

i know a couple people with it... and everyones running fine.... if you're worried just keep your eye on the engine temp...... mine and people i know with it all have stable temps.

on my sohc I just wired in the ac fan to be on with the ignition. never had a ploblem. did the same thing on my dohc. have yet to have a problem. although the ac fan doesn't work anymore...

What do you do if you live in Arizona or Nevada and are sporting just the AC fan? I'm sure that with my driving habits, I would boil over in no time at all!!

I currently reside in Colorado so that shouldn't be the case, but I was also thinking about getting a set of the flex-a-lite fans for my KA. Also, I have a crack in my radiator so it sounds like it's time for a Koyo unit!
