So i jst installed one of these units,

i have not hooked up the illumination wire because i never could figure out how to correctly do it with nissans so i always left them off. but for this thing i need the illumination connected so that the GPS can switch from night/day views.

Memory (+12v Constant) RedIgnition (+12v Switched) (varies) Brown or GreenGround (-) Black (varies - most don't have one)Illumination Red/WhiteDimmer Red/BlackPower Antenna Green

so do i just connect the GPS illumination wire orange/white to the nissan wire red/white and leave the dimmer wire disconnected?

i'm jst trying to not have to buy a new dimmer switch if i mess it up. thanks.

You got it right. Also in the meantime you can go into the settings and put it into night view manually if you need to.

Can I be a **** and ask how much you paid and where you got it from? I've been wanting an AVIC unit ever since I installed a N1 about 3 1/2 years ago.

You would have been the first one I would ask if I were buying one soon. I dont have the money to get one right now, it's just out of curiosity.

Didn't it come with a trim bezel for that?

it did but the kind that goes all the way around and it wouldn't clear the radio trim.

Odd. If you want I can take a look at it since I'm in the area.

haha thanks for being nice like that but its jst a little gap. i'll keep my eyes open for a plastic piece that i can trim and glue in there. i dont even notice the gap that much...the camera really brings out the imperfections.

True that, I just remember those coming with uber thin trim pieces to put over the radio and then put the trim bezel over.
