So im trying to see if there is an How To's on how to install an aftermarket amp, i vaguely remember seeing one, but i cannot find it!!

So im looking at replacing the stock amp with this one

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777M4075/S ... _and_specs

And what im hoping this will do is actually make it louder, because my kenwood deck is at the very end of volume knob trying to make this loud enough,

So if anyone could point me in the right direction of what im going to need to make this work, cords, fittings, instructions, etc. (im kind of a newbie at this, so any direction with be greatly appreciated) And i should get this installed professionally, but i have enough audio experts around me to help.

Thanks

Kyle

Can someone at least point me to the link or thread that shows how to install an amp in the existing area where the stock amp would go?

Do you have a factory Bose system?

How do you have your deck hooked up now? (Harness adapter, custom wired, using pre-outs or speaker level outputs)

I do not have the bose system, just the standard factory deck (for now) but i did have some really crappy Kenwood KDC 138, and it sounded horrible but thats another story, i will be installing a different, higher end ken wood when i get the funds, my main question was how do install an aftermarket AMP?

I remember seeing not too long ago, someone had installed an aftermarket AMP in the factory position, and i really like the clean look, so i would like to go for that as well.

The reason i want to install a new amp, is because both of the kenwood decks i tried were REALLY REALLY quiet, and i was told i could do one of two things, get a new amp or hard wire the system to run off the deck, not the amp, which sounded pretty sweet, but i want to explore all my options before i make a decision.

I just did this myself to upgrade my bose system to a NEW more high powered SPL install. To make it a simple install you need a 4 channel amplifier that will fit in the small location (obviously). What I did was replace just the component speakers in the front and the rear doors but I did use the factory wiring. I installed the amplifier in the factory location (I used a 5 channel MTX amplifier for 1 channel as my sub) and ran my preouts off the deck to input side of my amplifier. Then I basically used the harness for the existing vehicle harness and cut the wires then spliced into the output side going into the doors. Just becareful if you are NOT replacing the factory tweeters (you can smoke them easily). Its really not that quite hard. I have alot of customers that have me bypass their stock amplifiers and put in SPL systems. PM me if you need further help.

What is the factory amp location for a BOSE amp in an R50?

I do not have a bose but just installed an amp to run 1 sub in the back of the buggy. I juts had to run power back to it, RCA and remote turn on, grounded it under the rear seats and voila, insta-bass. turned down the base in the head unit and sounds like a whole new system now.

What my main concern was with doing this project was just what do i un-plugg and what can i get rid of, because when you open up the rear panel there is a ton of wires running every which direction, not to mention the huge fusses right in front of it,
