im installing a sony cdx player in my 07 altima 2.5s non bose system without navigation.

i ordered a single din dash kit and already removed the stock player and im down to the harnesses.

my new player only has 8 wires for four speakers,a ground a 12v constant and 12v switched ignition.

how would i go about wiring this up?the stok altima harness has way more wires, not to mention a internal antenna and my sony player uses a plug in type.

any help would be greatly appreiated especially from a person who already installed one in there 2.5.

Hey, while your car is apart: any chance you could take a peek at the AUX input on the front of the head unit? I'd like to know if that unscrews or comes off the back of that mount point. If so, I'd like to reroute mine under and inside the dash cubby to hide the input to my XM Ski-Fi2 radio.

on the vehicles without the navigation, it doesn't come off, it's part of the unit. I think you could get the one with navigation to come off, but you would need the wiring harness to make it work... not sure how you would set that up...

I didn't know what to hook that blue wire up to, so i left it alone. Hasn't been a problem yet! If anyone else knows, please enlighten!

Also, don't foget the PAC SWI=PS unit if you want to retain control of your steering wheel functions (track up/down, volume up/down, source)

i heard if you dont connect the blue wire, your radio am/fm wont work cause its not being activated, but if you still recieved signals without it ill try it out.

definately not true.. mine is NOT connected, however, the blue wire from my aftermarket deck iIS connected to the correct wire on the factory harness... I can't recall exactly which one it is, so maybe that's why my radio is receiving signals ok!

Well, thanks for saving me the trouble of looking. I was just thinking this evening, I'd tear it out and take a peek. Guess I'm stuck with a cable dangling.ON an unrelated note, not sure why I am not getting email replies to topics. I check "email me all replies" and it default checks "watch this topic".

well all i did was for the antenna the blue wire connets to the blue wire to the aftermarket player the antenna REM,so that problem is fixed, now i have a flashing light on my instrument panel and its the supplemental air bag warning light.

could it have anything to do with the two wire harnesses left over from the install?does anyone know what thoses two harnesses deal with?

Yeah, my supplemental airbag light blinks now also. I went to the dealer, and he said that I would have to pay 48$ to have it reset! I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me out with that reset. I tried the FSM, but came up empty.

The other two plugs i beleive are for the 1. steering wheel controls and 2. xm radio connect. When i took my wife's stereo out (2.5S no premium sound system) she only had one wire, which I'm assuming was for the steering wheel control!

well i dont have the steering wheel controls, all i have are the rusie ontrol ones nothing else, and i dont think my basic package came XM radio ready,so i double stumped at what those wires are and what do the air bag light have to do with things,oh well i guess we wait.
