Installing a Radar Detector on 2010 EX35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi,

My first post so go easy! :)

Just got my 2010 EX35 AWD Journey and looking to install and hard wire in a Beltronics V940 Vector Radar Detector. I noticed on the forums people have had success using the Invisicord and wiring it into the rear view mirror.

Any one done this on a 2010 EX35? The harness on the rear view mirror looks different to previous years:

Another post mentions you won't be able to use "remote button" if you do this - what is the "remote button"?

Will the unit turn off with the ignition? I think so as I don't see the rear view mirror light on when the engine is switched off.

I note there is a black and a white wire going into the harness - which color wires do I insert with the Invisicord?

Appreciate any advice!

I did it. The invisicord came with instructions. It took 10 minutes including taping the wiring to make it discreet.

Hi G3LO - I am based in USA.

I've managed to hook it up. My only problem is keeping the wires inserted. Using cable ties around to hold it in place isn't working as the black plastic shielding of the cable in the picture moves with the Invisicord. I've managed to wrap the cord once around the rear view mirror bracket which has helped keep it in place.
