I own a 2008 NV.I have issues with my front windshield wipers. When they swipe...the end up stopping in the middle of my window. Then they restart and continue on with this annoying issue. My wipers work very well sometimes... but then other days they don't work properly... more like in cold weather...

at any rate, I had a person suggest to me to use electrical cleaner due to maybe condensation building up. I wonder what everyones elses thought on this idea is.

ALso, I learned that there is no relay for the front windshield wiper, hence why i would need to get a new IPDM box all together. But I wonder, maybe I just have to replace the windshield wiper fuse instead?

if anything else, does anyone know a good manual online that i can read in order to install a new IPDM myself? While I can go to a nissan dealer to get this part which is about 300$... does anyone else know the best place to buy a new IPDM online to get this part at a cheaper price instead?

Well, i just checked my wiper fuse and it seems to look okay. So, i guess i can rule that out. Wiper works fine now tho. but the fact that it can turn unreliable... still makes me feel i prolly need a new ipdm (which is what the car mechanic told me) but since it seems to be currently fine now, I guess i'm trying to procrastinate or i'm hoping thats not the issue. I'm opting to use electrical cleaner for now.

just looking for the most cost effective way to solve this problem.

Where I can buy a less expensive IPDM online and an instructional manual on how to install one on my own would still be helpful to know..

I suspect faulty contacts in the wiper motor.

car mechanic ran a diagnostic test and the wiper motor is fine... but is what your saying different? what your implying is that while my wiper motor maybe fine... its the "faulty contact" to the motor which maybe the issue? Sorry for the silly question. but sigh. wish there was a relay for the windshield... so i would have to buy a whole new entire IPDm box...

Sounds like a bad switch, and a faulty mechanic. Or maybe just a loose ground wire.
How are your mechanic skills? The FSM is available on this forum. If you don't feel up to it, take it to a dealer. But not the one who you, "you need a new IPDM"!

FSM? Sorry, I am not sure what that stands for. Can you tell me what that is. I paid a lot of money just to get a diagnosis - 91$. I guess in my mind, I think I'm just gonna go with getting a new IPDM. You maybe right with what maybe wrong with it tho. But I feel I'm at a stand still and have to make a decision.

Not too sure how mechanically inclined I am, but I was going to install the new IPDM by myself. Looks fairly easy to do from what I've seen online.

BTW The IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room) is the fuse and relay box under your hood, Is that the part your mechanic told you to change???
IMHO You should take the car to a Nissan dealer, I know it's going to co$t. But how much are you going to spend on useless repairs???

My 2009 Versa has decided to work the wipers as it pleases instead of how I need them to work.

When on any intermittent speed it should swipe one time until the next rotation. Instead I get anywhere from 1-12 swipes AND sometimes is stops mid swipe. When using wipers without intermittent, it will stop for 12-15 seconds at a time. The last time this happened 15 times over a 25 mile trip.

Any suggestions as to which electronic part may be responsible for this? Is there a relay module or the full stick switch?

Thanks for any suggestions.
