Installing a Clear Bra (Nusolis on Ebay) - Any tips?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

So I bought a clear bra kit for $60 on Ebay (hood, bumpers, A-pillar, mirror housings, lights, roof). Big difference from the $700+ or so that the Infiniti dealer charges for the 3M kit installed. I just installed the rear bumper and A-pillar pieces, took about 2 hours. Looks like there is no problem so far, but who knows what it will look like tomorrow morning.

Any tips from people who have installed the Nusolis or similar kit on Ebay?

I used this on a car before and after one year, I took it off and the paint changed to a different color, more like a yellow on a Gray car. I was upset, so I never use these again. I bought a cheap clear Bra around $80.00 and it was crap. Buyer beware.

The more expensive ones acutally won't fade the paint. I had one on my Mercedes for 5 years and the paint looked new when I took it off.

there is a reason why you let pros do this....they know what they are doing. Spend $60 on ebay, get a $60 ebay job. Personally I wouldn't wany my $40k+ car to look like shiite with a botched clear film job. if you do finally get a kit to fit properly, go buy you some Plexus and use it religiously because those cheap kits turn yellow and brittle really fast.

I bought the same product (the bumper only) for my 2010 EX35. I installed it today and it took 2.5 hours. It looks very good but I need to finalize it tomorrow (there is a few place that was not sticking correctly). A few pointers for those who consider installing one:

Read the instructions and check the video on youtube
Make sure it is warm and dry
Install it in a clear area. Don't let dirt get stuck between the film and the car. Any little rock or blade of grass will show!
Use a few soft squeeze and many towels
Use only 2 drops of baby shampoo (99.99999% should be water): too much shampoo makes a cloud effect between the film and the car
Use a air dryer and use it all the time to stretch the film - I mean, ALL the time. I had a helper who's only job was to direct hot air on the product. It is the only way to position it properly.
Have a helper. You can't do this alone.

I will have to cut a little of it because i overstretched the film, but it looks good. I will let you know how it works out in a few weeks...
