Installing A/C in an S13 that never had it.

Anyone ever heard of doing such a thing? I was thinking of going to a junkyard and pulling all the parts required to have a/c and somehow installing them on the car.

Is this sort of thing even possible?

what do you mean never had it?

sohc and dohc both come with ac

you probably just got one with a delete and yes you can

you would need to get:

ac compressor braket/boltsac compressorbeltac condenser (looks like a radiator sorta)and all the lines for it

you should have a switch or something on your harness that isnt plugged into anything thats where the ac compressor would go

but to be honest, pulling all that junk out saves a good 40lbs

By that I mean it has the appearance of lack of a/c from the factory. None of the parts are there, there's no "A/C" button, and the holes where the lines go through the firewall have rubber plugs in them.

I'll gladly take on another 40lb in my car to be able to drive in the middle of summer (in south Louisiana mind you) without wanting to die

if your car never came with ac then you need all those things as well as the heater/ac control. but your biggest hurdle will be the wiring you need to find out if non ac cars have the ac wiring. if your not bad with electronics you could read the schematic and wire it in yourself. its also possible that the airbox could be diffrent and in that case you will need to get one of those too.
