Installing a boost controller, please read.

What all would be involved in installing a boost controller like this:

It is specifically for the rb20, so i figured it would tap right into the ECU. But i doubt its that easy.

Can anyone give me the run down on a boost controller like this? Installation, capabilities.. Heck, I got it for $30, I guess thats a fair price.

look like that unit doesn't come with the silenoid/valves where you connects the vac lines to...basically the unit is incomplete.

why dont you just get a better boost controller... it doesn't have to be rb20det specific...

what he said. Boost controllers are universal, and you are better off just buying a new one to make sure that you have all the components necessary for the install. All a boost controller does is prevent the wastegate from opening by limiting the pressure to the actuator. I have a blitz on my RX-7, but I may go with a low cost mechanical boost controller for the RB. They are around $70Electronic boost controllers are ususally around $300 new.

I didnt plan on turning the boost up right now, still some things i need. Im just trying to get parts now then throw them all on.

I still need a boost gauge, turbo timer, and a boost controller.. havnt had my engine in that long so im trying to hurry up and get the stuff.

Oh.. and a new fuel pump, seems like everyone uses the walbro 255 pump.. How hard of an install is that? and is this the one right here:

I am considering just getting a new one.

takes about 15 minutes. You cut two wires and then connect the two new wires. very easy to do. Don't forget to get a fuel pressure regulator!

(if you are jay from aci, you put the rb20 in my gray s13 with chrome rims)
