Kit worked fine after I installed it and I just went to run to the store and the passenger side will not light up. I remember reading somewhere that this was a known issue with these kits but can't find any info on how to fix it?

all lights on a car are all 12v system meaning that you have to have power and a ground source. Have you unplugged the ballast from the OEM harness and take the bulb from the OEM headlight and plug it in? It it lights then plug the ballast in and check to see if you have voltage coming out from the ballast. if no voltage, then the ballast isn't passing current...

Let us know what you find...

Well I actually had a complete stillen kit installed by my body shop who also installed the HID kit. The car is completely put back together and I can't access the headlights? Do i need to take off the bumper to try to remedy this situation? This was all done as part of an insurance payout and I bought the HID kit myself so I don't think the body shop will check it for free?

What is the best course of action I can take?

Based on a little bit of research I'm guess the easiest way to troubleshoot this is to jack up my front end and take off the passenger side tire and check all the connections?

Yea, the easiest way for someone unfamiliar with removing the bumper and such is to just take off the wheel and pull back the fender liner to access it from behind. That's how I installed my kit originally. As others have mentioned it has been a common issue for some kits to not work on the passenger side (especially cars equipped with the automatic headlights) and the simplest fix is hook them up with a relay kit. Also if it does have the auto lights, try turning the switch to off and on manually rather than letting the auto system do it and it might temporarily fix your issue.

I have the auto light feature on mine and have tried simply turning them to "on" but it isn't working. No matter what I do the passenger side won't light up which is so weird because it worked fine for the first couple of days without any problems, now all of the sudden it won't light up. How hard is it to install a relay and do I need to install one on both headlights or just the passenger if that is indeed what is wrong?

i think you should just take it to a auto enthusiast shop and have them fix it for you, you wont have to worry cuz they know what to do and it will be done correctly, plus it wont be expensive or at least it shouldnt be i mean its not like they are reinstalling it

One relay kit does both lights. Essentially the relay kit gives the headlights power directly from the battery, and the trigger wire for the relay plugs into your driver side headlight plug. So when you flip the switch (of the auto triggers) the car's headlight harness tells the relay to turn on and power from the car's battery. The car's passenger side headlight harness plug will then become unused.

it depends on whether you have a single or dual trigger relay kit...mine is dual trigger so it uses the plugs from them both

...speaking of which, I had bought Xentecs from an ebay seller and had problems with them. First, the passenger side flickered, so I replaced that ballast. Next the drivers side started acting up. I installed the relay harness along the way, and it still had issues.

The seller replaced the ballasts under warranty, but I decided I was over it. I bought the DDM Tuning branded kit. I installed them under the hood, so no more jacking around with the bumper or the wheel well. They work great 100% of the time so far.

The moral of the story is this:

I wouldn't buy the Xentecs again.

If you did buy the Xentecs, I have 2 35W Xentec branded ballasts and 1 non-branded ballast and 2 6000K bulbs not being used (the non-branded one was one of the warranty replacements.) Before everyone tries to jump on me, all of the ballasts work as far as I know since I had them exchanged. I know 2 work for sure, I did not test the other one. If anyone wants them as spares or wants to try to scratch together a kit, I could probably find the harness adapters that go with them. I don't want to give them away, but I'll let someone have them for a lot cheaper than ebay.

I concur... I haven't heard a negative thing about DDM tuning yet... love their products I'm using now... and they are right here in San Diego, so its just a quick drive to their store

DDM's installed and no problems whatsoever, even with Auto headlights and such

This is with their Raptor V2 Kit.

I may be the lone one here who hasn't had a single problem with my Xentec's *knock on wood*. Granted I don't have the auto-lights either which is fine by me.
