Installed Window Tint and Wheel Spacers Today...

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Tint: Global Films 35% all around, except the front.

Wheel spacers: 25mm, rear only.

The spacers are cool. They don't require longer wheel studs, since the spacers bolt on the the originals and provide new ones for the wheels.

They wheels were pushed out slightly more than I had hoped for, but I think it looks better this way than with the wheels tucked way inside the wheel well. I believe that spacers smaller than 25mm require replacement of the OEM studs with longer ones. I did that on my Lexus and it is a pain!

It look me about an hour to install them using the OEM jack and a 4 way lug wrench. I think it feels more stable now, especially around those winding on/off ramps.

I want to get that cross brace that someone is offering here, but I haven't heard any feedback from anyone using it yet.

As for the tint job, I did it in a small shop in N.E. DC. The guy did a very good job, worked very clean and was very polite. If anyone in this area needs a tint job, go to X-Clusive Window Tinting in N.E. DC. http://washingtondcwindowtint.com/.

On eBay I paid $88, shipped. You just have to make sure to get the hubcentric ones. Even if they don't specify EX35, as long as they say FX-35, you'll be ok. It's like 5 bolt pattern around a 114.3mm diameter, with a 66.2mm hub. Some will say 66.3mm or even 66mm, but like I said, if they specify Infiniti FX-35, they'll fit.

I'll be getting the pedals next, just like the ones Katsu has on his white eX35 (the one in Japan). The only other thing I'd like is the cross brace and wider tires once I kill these. Either 245mm or 255mm.

About the spacer's: I was looking to get H & R, but they were like $135 plus shipping. I figured that since this is an item which is easily machined, just about anyone or any factory in China could make a good one.

I was very surprised when I received them. They seem to be very well constructed. Great studs and lugs, too. Unfortunately, in the rush to put them on, I forgot to take pictures of them.

Looks Amazing!

Truly Amazing!

Why did you just use the spacers on the rear not the front as well?

You should consider doing 35% on the entire windshield as well (Best Mod I ever did)

To answer lybrian1, to get pedals under $40, you might find something in AutoZone or Pep Boys or something like that. Maybe even Kmart or Wal-Mart. But they will certainly look cheesy. I wouldn't even bother, if that were the case.

The only reason I haven't ordered them is because the battery on my drill went bad. From experience, when I ordered pedals on my Lexus, I had to drill holes into the OEM pedals.

RioD007, I won't install spacers in the front, unless they're 5mm because I don't want to go through the hassle of swapping out the studs. If I ever have to remove the spacer, the OEM lugs will not reach the rim due to the length of the stud.

Additionally, I don't really trust spacers in the front - unless they're no wider than 5mm - because I believe they will put too much strain on my steering components and front suspension.

Once I get new tires, I'll decide if I will get spacers for the front. I've actually thought about sending my rear rims out to have them widened an extra inch (to the inside) So I can run a 275 or 285 tire in the rear. The problem is, there aren't many 275/45 18 tires to choose from.

As far as tinting the front windshield - I really wanted to. But they hassle you about it here and my car would not pass inspection. The installer could have made an extra $50, but he talked me out of it. He tells me that most windshields that he does eventually come back to have it removed due to fines.

Also, the lane departure system might be affected because I would be covering the camera lens. Anyway, glad you like it!
