Underdrive pulleys make the accessories turn SLOWER not faster. That is the whole point of them. Make the accessories turn slower and that doesn't use as much power and frees up the power back to the motor.kbflip02 wrote:i was told that since the pulleys are spinning faster that is what is causing the gas mileage to be worse...im not entirely convinced though...my foot is definately not heavy or at least wasnt on the last tank u put in and it was 13.8 gallons of 93 octane @ 220 miles...something must be wrong...any ideas???also i overheated in stop and go traffic while my A/C was running so today im installing a cooler thermostat to see if that helps...oh and i finally put my 2 10's in the trunk w/ an Alpine 1000W amp...sounds great...now i want to replace the 6 x 9s in the rear deck though...either that or install bass filters...not sure which way to go yet...any ideas???
on another note i was told that instead of doing all the work i want to to the motor i should just get a 50 dry shot of nitrous....maybe the motor could handle it but im not about to try that experiment...lastly my suspension guy told me that i could buy universal coilovers and throw them on the J...dont know what to make of it...
***special note on under drive pulleys***dont mess up the belts that came with them b/c if u do its a $%^& trying to find replacements w/o going back to the original place u got them...also when installing the HI water pump pulley get some washers so you can space it out otherwise the belts rub and then they shred...not fun...
