Hey guys - Got the Tein S-Techs and KYB GR-2's installed today on the 93 'vert... Not a bad job, pretty easy installation.

The car looks KILLER now with its new stance...

BUT...

Now the front tires rub the inner fenderwell liner when I turn or when I hit a bump... Seems to be happening on the outer edge of the tire only.

205/60/15 (OEM) tires on stock rims....

Anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it?

Oh, remember to move the wiring harness up otherwise you'll rub through it and short everything out... that would be bad.

205/60r15? my 89 has 205/55r15 tires. the higher aspect ratio could cause that.

my 195/55r15s don't rub.

and for moving the upper wire harness in the fender well, you only need to do that if you've lowered the car enough that the wheel MIGHT rub the top of the fender well.

Also, that's a condition that will only happen on the track if the car is lowered enough. On the street, the car won't be nose diving like it would on the track.

That's incredible hitman, I can't believe you got that much drop.I'm running the same combo with 195/60/15 and still have at least a good 2", to lazy to actually measure ;), between the tire and fender.

Well, I pulled the inner fenderwell liners. I was getting rubbing on the very top of the liner, so i trimmed it somewhat. I then tucked my wiring higher, added an aluminum "shield", and rolled the metal lip inward. Then I ziptied the top of the fender liner to hold it higher.

I neglected to put the bumpstops back on the shocks when I installed them (duh) so I'll be getting those tomorrow.

The difference in tire size is very minimal between a 195 and 205. The 205 is les than 1/2" wider and taller so tire size isn't and issue.Need pics to see the detail, I still can't believe that the tire is sitting that close to the fender with s-techs! Well you're definetly on the right track with the bump stops... dust boots are your friend. :D

isn't there a difference between vert and coupe AGX's? Maybe tenkawa got the actual vert AGX's and you got the coupe AGX's, therefore your added weight would drop you slightly more than his?

205/60/15 is the larges diameter u going to fit in ur car (the total diameter including wheels and everything) with the cover. being heavier and stuff i'm not suprise, so either go to 195/60/15 or 205/55/15, or drive it real carefully until u get bigger rims and match it up w/ the right tires, the formula is on tirerack.com, its like thiswidth of tire (205) times the sidewall size (60/100) then times 2 (because there are 1 sidewall on each side) times the diameter of the rim itself (15 x 25.4mm) your should come out to be around 627mm, besides 205/55/16 any other tire+rim combination will be smaller then that, hope u take care of it soon because we wouldn't want to burn anything

205/60/15 and 195/60/15 are both stock sizes, and u R suppose to go to a smaller wheel diameter (not rim size but the whole wheel size) if u r going to lower ur car

No such thing to my knowledge. I don't think there's a specification for 'vert struts.

I have GR-2's, not AGX's.

Not necessarily true. Ideally, you want to retain OEM diameter.

But I understand what you meant.

This is my 12th lowered car. :)

there are no vert specific struts. In fact, I think AGX won't hold up the warranty if they're installed on a vert.
