The gain is nice, almost like a flywheel without the chatter. :)

Anyways, now my car doesn't like to start. I start it up in the morning and it starts and dies. I have to start it and rev it for a second to keep it from dying, then it works like normal. It does this sporadically so I dunno. Did I do something wrong? Did anyone else have this problem?

HELP!!!

is your a/c on? the extra strain might be killing the engine.-or-how much difference is there between pully diameter between old and new? if it's a smaller diameter and your using the same belts, there might not be enough tension, and the alternator can't get spinning right up to produce juice.

that's all I can think of

thats what happens when you under drive important things like alternators :P i hope you dont have a big stereo system.. just get used to it..

and if your flywheel chatters.. you got something broken

I didn't think the single ASP crank pulley was an underdrive pulley... I thought it was simply lightened. If that's true then it shouldn't slow the alternator at all. But, if the belt isn't fitting right it could be slipping.

Well, it does underdrive, but I have brand new belts that the instructions said to get, so that's not a problem. I'm going to try to adjust a few things like belt tension and stuff today and see if that helps.

Also I don't have a big stereo, just stock. I never plan on getting one either..

TomsMR2: It was more of a joke, my flywheel doesn't chatter, it's stock, but normally when you get a really light aftermarket flywheel you have to deal with some chatter.

I fail to see how underdriving the alt would cause for startup issues... If the alternator is charging the battery to full capacity while driving then that is all that matters. Thats why CCA are important in a battery. You really dont gain a lot of juice from running an alt at about 300rpm (startup speed off of starter alone) for a few seconds that was designed to output max current at about 2500rpm iirc.

Now if the alternator isnt charging 100% due to being underdriven, and the battery isnt up to its full charge capacities, then I could see a problem. But one shouldnt really be thinking about putting performance parts on an unsound car. But thats just me.

Any other ideas? It is still doing this.

Someone suggested the MAF?

might not even be related to the pulley, maybe u bumped something or pulled a cable out by mistake... etc... go over anything you touched while doing the pully install

okay, will do.

That might explain it starting erratically but why would it stay running until I stopped it? hmmm...

Also, how do I check for a bad MAS?

To check for a bad MAS u need to use a multimeter and test its output.

Heres a thread over in the Technical Forum that should help you: http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....25601
