Like the title said, just installed some Tein Flex coilovers. I used to have Megan Streets coilovers and thought that they were too stiff for DD, but they handled really well on touge. Since my car (s14) is my DD, the stiffness was just too much for me, so i sold them and traded my stock s14 wheels+tires for some used tein flex coilovers(not blown). I must say that they are a lot more comfortable, i believe the spring rates are 6k front/5k rear. From my little research over the internet, flex are suppose to be only 16 way adjustable, why are mines 24 way adjustable? Are they japanese specs or something? and could i get some more information to these 24 way adjustable?

Yes, i checked the US and UK tein website but both website are similar and same specs on the tein flex coilovers. I also tried the Tein Japan website and all i get is bunch of question marks with pretty declarations. So my guest is that these might either be Japan specs coilovers or an older version/type flex...that is if they ever updated them....help me someone

Alright i've gotten 2 different email from a Tein USA sales1st)

Thank you for your interest in TEIN High Performance suspension products.

Actually, our Type Flex coilovers, as well as many of the damping adjustable coilovers, have 16 usable damping force settings. Many of them have 24 clicks, like you mentioned, but going beyond the 16 usable settings will not offer any more adjustment. We actually recommend that you do not exceed the specified 16 clicks when driving.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Best regards,Sales

2)

Thank you for your interest in TEIN High Performance suspension products.

In other words, do not exceed the 16 levels of damping force. You can cause damage to the damper if it is being used beyond the 16 levels of adjustment. There is no extra damping adjustment beyond our settings.

The 24 clicks that we have on most of our coilovers is something that was designed into the click assemblies. Some of our kits, like the N1 coilovers have 20-way adjustable dampers. This design feature was added to all damping force adjustable coilovers, but were not to be used beyond our recommended settings.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Best regards,Sales

Pretty much, that explained everything. By the way, they provided really good customer service

I had Flexes. Yeah, it's only 16. Anything ast that is useless and may damage the coils.
