i installed a dei valet 562T remote start system in my car.... everything went perfect, installed all the safetys and what not... hooked up the tach wire, and had the system learn the tach signal.... got it working nicely... and then a problem....

when its cold outside and the cars been sitting for awhile.... the remote start function doesnt work right.... its like a cold start issue... but if i do it the normal way the car starts fine... but with the remote start it will crank for awhile before it starts... sometimes 5-6 seconds, other times up to 15 seconds, and i cant figure out why.... it seems like its not getting enough fuel... but its hard to test....

anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem. Only when is is cold it just cranks to hell w/ no start. But if its just a little warm boom , fires right up. It has something to do w/ the IACV cuz if you jump in your car while it is cranking , and depress the throttle even a little bit it will start right up. It is an air problem. Unfortunently I don't know the fix. I just let my car go though 2-4 cranking cycles and it eventually starts up.

Um, did you check to make sure your cold start wire is also getting power?

You have the primary ignition wire & the cold start wire -> this wire is often forgotten even by installers since the car is usually pretty warm when they test it (since they sometimes start it a few times, then it doesn't happen anymore).

Once I figured out the wire colors, I had to make sure I sent the power to it, so I set "accessory" -> "cold start", which is the secondary option for the alarm I had (Viper 791xv).

Easy test, once you find the cold start wire (it's posted somewhere here - I posted it a while ago, or you can check the12volt.com), you can hook everything up, but pull the wire for ignition/starting, etc & press the remote start on your alarm & multimeter the wires to make sure they are sending power - this way you don't kill your starter.

hmmm ill have to see if theres a cold start wire... there were wires that were only there if the system needed more power... maybe one of those is it
