Hey just finished installing the coilovers and reinstalling my kit. when I first installed the coilovers I forgot to make sure they were set at the same height (I've been playing with them while they were not installed yet). the First pic is off the car not adjusted yet. since these pics I've changed them to a higher setting so I can get out of my drive way. What do you think?

I likey. You need to do the "notch" mod to get your wheels to sit right though. Its on the 240sx.org site. (or it used to be...)

That's some mad camber in the first pic. Looks good though. What brand are they?

The car under the covers is my bro's 2002 celica. See link to pictureClick here

I don't think I need to do the notch trick I've got camber plates.

well camber plates are cool, but when you lower it, you get MORE negative camber due to some bar in the suspension...I just read it on the site. You might wanna at least check it out.

omg jesus... your camber must be at least -5 + that is dangerously negative. Please do not drive in teh rain until you get your car 4 wheel alignment. Trust me my rears were -3 degree off and driving was not fun and very dangerous. I would not go anymore then -1.6 in the rear and -2 in the front. P.S. if you drive with a bad camber like that say by by to handling, and TIRES your tires will not last more then two months tops !

Ok so not be be a hard *** or anything but i highly doubt you have a 50 gran dmachine in your garage to be certain..... How can your camber be OK if you dont even know what its at. Looking at it is not going to make it what its supposed to be. Do the smart thing and get it done properly

Yes, I know! I don't mean I'm not going to get an alignment, I mean my car doesn't look like the first pic anymore. I'm give it a week to setup/adjust height and let everything settle in before I do an alignment.

"P.S. if you drive with a bad camber like that say by by to handling, and TIRES your tires will not last more then two months tops !"

wish you were TOTALLY correct my friend but that only partialy applies. toe is changed with lowering(angle and length of the controll rods) camber as well, with independent suspension. toe is the main contributor to premature tire wear, not camber alone. camber and toe alows that small(er) patch of tire (contact patch) to be mis-aligned with center creating more than normal friction between the tire and road. with proper toe, camber of a couple of degrees should be fine under normal driving conditions for the tires wear.

Wet conditions will prove to give you less traction with camber, that's a given. less contact with the road, less friction. also gives water an angle to push the face of the tire at.

camber has it's advantages for handling. on dry surfaces, turn in (inside wheel) maintains more contact with the road on hard turns alowing the outside tire to follow easier (again, less contact patch)

now thow in body roll, sidewall strength/profile/compound, spring rate etc...

that's a good start i think, the rest of you suspension gu-ru's may now chime in and add. ;-)

don't mean to bash, just trying to educate the masses!!

Nothing, depends on what he's using it for. if it's for a track drifting car or road course, that's fine to have that much. that's the reason there are camber plates. i had more than that on the REAR of my corolla in japan. it just depends on what you use it for.

i think camber is hot, for looks anyways. takes a wider wheel with a lower offset to make it look good but hey, that's just me.
