Called in sick today to get my mods finally installed...

Here's the Injen intake from: http://www.stillen.com/product...LTIMA

Fits very snug in the 2.5... not much room for anything!

Doesn't seem to vibrate hard enough to hit anything yet...

Also installed 6K HID headlight from XenonEyes. Decent product, for only $155 shipped. The only problem is that the instructions that accompanied it are awful and written in some kind of Chinglish. Bumper had to come off of course...

6K's look good!

Let me know what you guys think!

So give me some details, this is basically the EXACT mods I plan on in the next few weeks. How do you like them!?

You have the 2.5, so do I. How does it sound? I want it soooo bad, but I really don't want to blow my extended warranty I bought on top of everything. I lose that, I also lose my service plan I purchased.

Bought the extra warranty, huh desantim?

The intake sounds great actually. Around 2.5-4k RPM it really shines. But it's nothing too obnoxious or ricey... I would highly recommend it. Took less than half an hour to install!

As for the HID lights... I'de say spend more money than me and get a better brand haha. I'm sure there's a pile of content on the subject, just use search

Good luck modding!

"Bumper had to come off of course..."

FYI, the bumper didn't have to come off... there's a thread on how to do the install through the wheel well!

Yeah I saw that.... But didn't the wheel have to come off?

I really didn't want to have to jack the car up... I have a feeble little thing that couldn't hold up a Geo Metro

Yep, it's auto CVT.

Does that matter as far as intakes go?

jak0,

Well if there's a problem with you car and the warranty covers it... Take off the Injen, plug in the old clunky thing, and pretend like nothing ever happened?

haha yesss your both right. I thought his original question was on the general response of the intake to the CVT or MT. I blame lack of sleep

No. Aftermarket intakes do not void the warranty. The only time Nissan can say anything about warranty is if the aftermarket part itself caused a mechanical problem. About the only thing they could "void" replacing under warranty would be if you had MAF problems after the install.

Hell, one of my local Nissan dealerships replaced a blown factory strut (under warranty) 6-months AFTER I installed my Eibach springs.

Probably because the Max had several more mods readily available. Unlike the Alty Coupe at the moment

The Alty needs some suspension work too. Not so much for the ride, but to get rid of that FUGLY fender gap up front

The problem with the Alty and Maxima is that the front fender has a higher arch than the rear, thus while the car may even have a "rake" to the front it always looks like the rear is lower.

Eric,I just ordered a McCulloch 6k HID kit. As soon as it shows up and as soon as the weather warms a little I'll install them. I will definitely have the lap top out in the garage with me...thanks to your awesome how-to!

Yeah, 6k's are BRIGHT!

Had two people flash their brights at me... and I've only had them for two nights!
