Installed GT28R & Walboro 255, idle is rough and easy to stall. What gives?

The car is bone stock with only GT28R and walboro fuel pump, the shop called me and says the idle is rough, and if you rev it up the car stalls very easily.

What seems to be the problem now?

Uhh, did you install an adjustable/nismo fuel pressure regulator?? Has the shop done a fuel pressure test (verify too high of fuel pressure..)?

I have no personal experience, other pros should chime in. With basic knowledge on how fuel systems work, if volume is increased without an escape (FPR), pressure builds. Rich conditions will cause crappy idle and stalling...

That makes sense. Looks like FPR would be my next mod?

However, Im still concern if something else went wrong.

Did anyone else with Walboro fuel pump had this problem initially?

i was gonna say ive never seen this happen w/ just a fuel pump install...UNLESS your Fpr crapped out or was already bad. walboro 255s do over power the stock fpr but mine and many other users are still using stock fprs w/ no problem other than runnin rich..but my/our cars idle/drive fine

extend your maf piping.. if the maf is too near of your turbo its bugging the maf reading .. that was the cause of my stalling.PS: my maf is a z32 one

ok, a fuel pump install alone will not need a new FPR, the stock one will work, granted that it is working, check your fuel presure. next i would look for leaks in the piping, a new turbo means the piping was redone, or atleast taken apart, make sure all the connections are tits. also as said before if the maf is too close to the turbo, it will give wacky readings, it needs atleast 12"

I put the Walbro 255 in mine, and never had a problem.. then i put in my injectors, and still no problem !! as most guys said, maybe your stock one may have shat it.

you smart arses, WIRED lol

if you search online or check out Zilvia and Freshalloy, there are post on there about the ground wire not being beefy enough, and can sometimes lead to fuses busting, also there was something about the stock wiring sometimes causes the voltage to increase with revs if not hooked up porperly or wired differently, causing the pump to flow more than its designed to at 12v or whatever. leading to rich driving and bad idles etc..

i think i have thje bad ground symptums, i blow fuses at very high rpms when racing.

i didnt physically wire my fuel pump so i have no idea how it was done differently than stock.. but it was..

I have been running overly rich and got worse gas mileage since installing a walbro 255 on an otherwise stock fuel setup. I have also been stalling more, like if I push in my clutch from like 4 or 5k rpm as I come to a light. I doubt its coincidence.
