Hello guys. I installed dual flexalite fans with a variable speed controller with a koyo aluminum radiator on my KA24DE along with an electronic water temperature gauge and Im noticing that my temps AT IDLE reach 220-225 degrees. I have bled the system properly and have the correct coolant/water mixture. I installed the temp gauge probe on the upper radiator house near the stock location of the OEM temp sensor so my readings should be good. Once I drive the car the temps drop to 190 degrees solid, but once I idle the car it goes upto 220ish. If I step on the accelerator while the car is idle and not moving the temps behing to drop back to 190. Is this normal? Anyone know the normal temperature range of a KA24de? My fans engage at the right temperature and blow a ton of air.

Any info will be appreciated! Thank you!

Normally the OEM electric fan only turns on at 215 degrees or so. Don't think yours is that abnormal. Just set your fans to come on earlier. If its not overheating, then there shouldn't be an air bubble and probably everything is fine.

Got it, thanks. Any idea what the normal operating range for DE is?

While driving (hwy 55mph or so) it probably should hover around 185-205. Radiator and AC condenser (there or removed) can affect it. But remember your gauge in the hose isn't reading exactly the same as the internals of the motor either.

My old logs show 175F-185F with the clutch fan and boost. IIRC, after 185F, I just let it cool for a bit while cruising.

I found some oil in my coolant when I bled the system fully last week....so I have a leaky hear gaSket. I think I found the reason why my car want to run too hot. Thanks for the input
