After getting my Eibachs installed on my 3.5 coupe I have a vibration and noise when turning the wheel while stopped/low speed.

My mechanic(installer) has diagnosed it as the spring is vibrating against the rubber part on the button of the spring mount. Is this common? I would like to get rid of the noise, but he doesn't have any recommendations other than trying to lube the bottom which isn't working.

Well when I first had my Eibachs... I had no noise. Just recently though, I've been getting this noise that you're describing. It's like a DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN vibration when you turn the wheel in either direction.

mine made the same sound but when ever I would hit a bump, try tightening the master strut nut. may not be the fix, but worth a try

That is the exact noise I have.

I only have trouble with turning while either stopped or moving very slowly. I checked the nut but it's quite tight.

Tighten the other 3 bolts down (mount bolts not the master nut) again and use some serious elbow grease . They might have come loose a bit after the car was put back on the ground. The noise you may be hearing is those bolts shifting in the holes for them. After the wheel has been turned, there may be enough force to make them break their static friction and shift around causing a pop noise.

I had this problem I think. When i removed the mount bolts, I could see marks where the head of the bolt was dragged across scratched into the paint there.

I tried tightening them, but they were extremely tight. They were put on with the pneumatic gun...

OK. I know what the issue is. The covering on the spring is catching. Is that required for anything? Also one spring has a much larger piece of the covering than the other and the spring with less is the one causing the noise. Is this normal?

Hey, can you post pictures of what you're talking about? I'll have the guy that installed them take a look at this or when I get my rims.

Look at this image from the how-to. You will see the just a little of the cover on the spring on the lowest part of the spring.

That is what is catching on my drivers side front. That cover is differently sized on the two front springs and the shorter one catches.

??? ???How is it catching, and what is it catching on. That sleeve is only on there for Eibach to handle the springs with. You can remove that (I did). It really doesnt matter if you don't, as they shouldn't be in the way of anything. Are you saying that they are rubbing on your tire though? Something in the wheel well? Im not fully understanding how they would contact something and catch.

I still don't know what part you're talking about. Can you circle it in paint?

It's rubbing against the rubber pad which is below it. The one piece of plastic tubing is shorter so the edge of it is catching on the rubber and causing the stutter.

OK. So I had the plastic tubing removed and it wasn't causing the issue. We then applied grease to the padding and it reduced the noise to a tolerable level. I am still completely at a loss for how to resolve this.
