Installed body kit. EX35

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I installed body kit.

I thank for information of all of you!

I succeeded in the acquisition of the part in Japan.

By installation, I look big and wide !

Front Under Spoiler

Side Sill Protector

Door Under Molding

Rear Under Spoiler

I painted all in a color.

The reason is because there are much black resin parts. I dislike black resin.

All the black resin parts painted it.

I painted it in a fender arch.

I see it cool personally!

Congratulation Katsu. This is what i call professional work! well done! Do you think that there would be a possibility to pull further out your exhaust tips, it would look even more aggressive. My body kit is schedule to arrive on April 1st .thanks again for your pics and for your superb collaboration.

I never thought of bringing EX to other country but i realized, "Isn't it so perfect compact SUV to drive around in Japan? Narrow roads, tight parking spots, plus UNIQUE?

I like the way your car looks, but I have slight reservations with your wheel/tire combination. In my opinion, a little more rubber would round out the look a little.

You could have installed 255/30 22 tires instead. That would have given you an extra 10mm width and slightly more tire sidewall for a less harsh ride.

But I think you can probably fit 255/35 22 in there. Your current sidewall is 2.9inches (73.55mm). A 255/35 22 tire has a 3.5inch (89.25mm) sidewall. This will close the gap between the fender and the top of the tire.

If you would have gone with 9 inch rims, you could have gone with a 265 or a 275 tire in the rear. That would look hot! And definitely, you should extend the exhaust tips out from the rear. If not, you may end up burning the paint on the new body kit. That happened to me once. The paint on my new body kit bubbled up due to the heat.

If you can get your hands on some H&R or Eibach spacers for the rear, it would be perfect. With your current wheels, you could probably get a 10mm or 15mm spacer in the rear in order to bring the wheels flush with the fenders. If you decide to put 255mm tires in the rear, a 10mm spacer might do the trick.

Whatever spacers you decide to get, ensure they're hubcentric. I recommend H&R.

All in all, I really like the way your car looks.

What I have had done in the past.... what I have been able to do in the past, is have the OEM tip cut of, have a small extension pipe welded on and have the original tip welded back on. If you want to go larger, just weld on a larger tip. They have a flaring tool that they can just hammer into the factory pipe and then they can just weld on the larger diameter tip.

You might want to take it to an "old school" type muffler shop. They'll do just about anything for cheap.

I've had this done while the pipe was on the car. If the guy is good, he can do it without any burns. However, if you're already taking your bumper off as part of your kit install (don't know if you are or not), now would be a perfect time.

But definitely extend them out so they look OEM. Too far out and it will look funny. Too far in and it will bubble your paint.

Bolt on tips will probably look crappy. I wouldn't go that route after investing in a body kit.

Just cut and weld.

If anyone doesn't like to make that calculation by hand, here's a handy little tool:

Caribmon71,as we are speaking my EX is in the shop for the kit installation,You were mentioning about extending the exhaust tips that I also was aware of and fully agree with you,do you think that there are exhaust tips out there that I can just slide over the existing oem tips, and at the same time making the tips a little bigger? Or can the oem tips be extended?Thank you

Excellent work Katsu. Love that white (Japan racing colour)

You've mentioned that you ordered the H&R lowering springs in another post. Have you received that already? Please post some pictures afterwards as I am planning to order that set as well. Just want to see how much it lowers.

Which part of Japan are you from? I was in Tokyo (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku area) just a month ago and loving it. Food are great and loving those fresh sushi.

Cheers

Thank you for a message.

It is a future plan.

The examination of the 24 inches rim.

The examination of the made-to-order exhaust.

Installation of the down suspension.

By the way, when is H&R release?

I reserve H&R.

However, the release seems to be a plan of the latter half of this year.

I am investigating whether suspension for G35 cannot misappropriate it.

If there is information about down suspension, please teach it.

EX is just size to run in Japan.

I am smaller than MURANO and am easy to run.

By the way, I had MURANO before. I enjoyed customization in MURANO. The photograph is MURANO which I have ever had.

EX is easy to run. There is the power, too.

Thank you!

H&R is already finished with an order in a stillen, but release is with openness.

Because I cannot wait, I am going to misappropriate suspension for Skyline (G35 sedan).

I live in Tokyo.

Shinjuku is near from my house.

In addition, I want to meet you if I come to Japan.

My EX wants you to look.

The supper of my tonight ate sushi.

I will provide you with some pics.in the mean time I have a problem with the sonar ,they don`t work front and also back, and the sonar off light keeps blinking.Katsu and those of you that have installed the kit, were your sonar functional?do we have to go through a reset? Can someone help me out on this one. Thanks

i am not sure if it is for all cars but i once had x5 with sonars, one broken sensor disabled the whole sonar system, it might not be a reset problem since its not like an airbag system, they should check its connection everytime you power up the car, when i changed my sonar on my X5, i did not have to reset the sonar system. Good luck!
