I just put them in my s13 along with a welded diff (not that this should make a difference, i think). anyway, i've read alot about these and how there is supposed to be cabin noise but this is loud. my car is stripped but i have no cats and a 3 inch exhaust but i can still barely hear anything but this sound. like a winding noise. has anyone else had this experience???? i mean very loud.

If you stripped your interior it's a gonna be loud! When I got mine in I took the car for a spin minus the rear seat and it was crazy loud, sounds almost like an F1 car or something. Fun, but it would get tiresome in a hurry. It's not bad if you leave all the interior pieces in.

I don't have a problem with mine, I think its just the noise from your diff coming up through your cabin, also if you have a loud exhaust and noisy tires that will also come through the bushings

Are these the bushings or the collar spacers??

good to know its a safe noise, thats all i really worried about. the performance is awsome, just very loud.. and its completely stripped.

You've just eliminated your subframe bushings, which probably do the most out of any bushing system in the rear end to eliminate rear end NVH. The noise is normal, and should add to the fun of puttering around in your car. I, for one, love hearing things going on around me when I drive.

Man... I always spray PB Blaster, and let it soak for hours before I work on anything under the car. Never had a problem.

That's a pretty uncommon failure, I've never heard of that happening before!

If you can post some pictures of the damage, I could try to help you find a way of sorting it out.

PS Please do not drive on a subframe that's not properly constrained, it could cause you to lose control of the car if the subframe is not solidly mounted to the chassis.

its pretty common.. well, i've seen a couple that happened that way anyways.

its on there pretty well.. just that one bolt is gone, still holds laterally, just not vertically.

im too lazy to take pics.. however, imagine a stud on the frame.the subframe goes on the stud and bolts down, however the stud is broken where it meets the subframe.

i need to pull subframe and re-weld a stud on there to fix it

sucks ***.

do the collar spacers create a louder noise than stock bushings only?

Sounds like your OEM bushings were still in good shape when you installed collars. At least, collars will prevent OEM bushings go bad, so it's all good.

Ran into these pictures. Looks like back seat area needs to be drilled to take the broken stud out.

There are 4 studs for the rear subframe, not 6 as you can see from this pic.

Of course, dealership. I wouldn't try to get from junkyards or auto parts stores. Get the real one. Drill the hole, spray PB Blaster and bang it from the bottom and you should be able to get it out. It doesn't look that bad, so good luck...

Hmmm... Nissan is good at selling parts separately, but it happens. You should be able to get it from the junkyard no problem. I bet it's going to be tough hammering it up. You will need a good clearance under the car. If I were you, I'll cut the floor panel with the stud in and take it out after come home. You know what I mean? Good luck and keep us posted. BTW, Courtesy Nissan is pretty good at locating parts and helping people. I've been going there ever since I got my s13.
