I just intalled new intercooler last night. But when I was driving it wouldn't let me rev past about 2000 rpm before it started puttering. If I let off the gas it was fine, went back to normal. I had a little trouble starting the car (temperature was below 5 degrees farinhiet). Then I remembered that there was a small hole in my intercooler in the corner that I discovered. Its pretty small, but when you cover up the other end and blow into the pipes you can feel the air coming out. Is this the problem? I think it is but I wanted to make sure there isn't anything else it might be.

Yes, Fix it asap. With a leak there you will overwork your turbo and blow it up. Have it fixed or get you money back.

Boost leaks are never a good thing. Allowing metered air to escape will always make things run rich, but I don't think it would make your car run that bad. Check for ECU codes, then go over your IC piping again. Make sure every coupler is secure and very tight.

So the new intercooler you put on had a leak? And you knew this? And you still put it on?? Something isn't adding up here.

It's like putting a spark plug in a car that you know is cracked. it's going to giv you an issue, but you still need to hear the engine run, so you take your chances:confused: .

I had put the intercooler in just to measure things out. Before I knew it I was cutting and fitting, and then before I knew it I was clamping, and then... I started the car and putt putt putt. I need to not work on the car so late. And not be so eager:)

You have not a clue as to how many tools I've lost because of eagerness. Korey, call me when you get a chance man, you won't believe what I done to myself. Don't call if you've just eaten or you'll be sick.

Quote »damn. that sucks. hope you get better quickly.
Thanks man! I drilled a hole through my middle finger on my left hand while trying to drill and extract some bolts off a 4G63 for a friend. It hurts! It hurts really bad, bro! But thanks though......

OUCH! Hope you don't have any permanent damage. Just curious though, what hurt worse...the drill going in or taking it back out :shocked2

Once sliced my middle finger to the bone at the last knuckle with a razor blade. Was slicing a piece of 3/4" heater hose. Tip of my bird finger don't move all the way but I really never notice it.

I stuck my arm down into the engine bay once to tighten up a loose bolt. There was something nice and sharp down there too so that when I went to pull my arm back out, it cut me from the middle of my arm to my wrist.

My Dad steped on a screw once finishing our basement. No one was home, and he had to unscrew the screw out of his foot!! It went all the way in. The he used the screw to hang drywall. Typical of my Dad. Anyway, Dee, hope you feel better, e-mail me or call me, I think I gave you my Cell #.

Quote »Just curious though, what hurt worse...the drill going in or taking it back out
I think hurt more going through because it broke and the jagged portion is what tore through my finger and through the tile. I had my 60% of my weight on the drill which roughly about 80lbs, but it all went super quick (In/Out). But the trip to the hospital was the worst, especially when the ER doctor had to cut the flesh from the exit wound so that he could close it up with a suture (Ouch).

So I guess now people are going to get the hooke-bird finger.

I'm usually careful, but the drill bit broke and I got served. kinda remind me of my 1st time on a piece of booty, lost it on the 4th stroke:D and tried to make excuses:owned

Fixed the holes (there actaully were 3) I didn't think little holes like that would effect the car that bad. They were seriously like the size of the periods in this sentance. But anyways yeah I plugged those up. (Tested it by submerging the intercooler and blowing about 8 psi into it and seeing if there were any bubbles) I put the cooler back in and it worked just fine. No odd idling or any thing :)
