Installation of tether anchors for child seat in QX4

We just got a 2001 QX4. It was made in early 2000. I really like it so far, but it does not have a Child Safety Seat Anchor in the back deck. There are cargo tie-downs that we are using now, on behind the side seats, but we really want our daughter in the middle of the truck. How difficult is the installation.

Note, the deck carpet does not have cut-out slots for the anchor or anchors, how should we slit the carpet or are there alternative methods?
