I thought about that but I dont have the resources or knowledge for the RB20 swap. I could do the SR by myself but since there is some custom work involved for the RB20 that I can't do, I need help.

Do the SR, it's less difficult. You don't gain much with an RB20 for the extra greif involved.

I think that the RB has more potential in the long run. You can do so much more to the RB than the SR. You can swap parts with the RB26, theres more options plus the RB20 has more power out of the box than the SR and they're about the same price.

SR20 vs RB20, they both run out of potential at about 400hp. It starts getting really expensive from then on. You seen determined to have an RB regardless of the drawbacks(more expensive and difficult to install, heavier) Do an RB26, if you are going to do it, ****ing do it! Don't wimp out and get an RB20. That would be like saying "I am pulling the L out of my 240Z for a V8, I got a great deal on a 305". No disservice to the RB20, it's a wonderful motor but no replacement for an SR, now a 26 ok, that would be worth the trouble.

After the last 3 years of swapping RB20's around, I'll have to agree with the crazy doctor guy. You'll be lucky to hit 400hp with the RB20 in the states. I hate the SR but there is a vast supply of parts for it.

I was wondering what parts you were refering to, that swap over to the RB20 from the RB26. I can't think of any...

Go with the RB25 or RB26, you'll thank us in the long run.

you can use the RB26 pistons and Ive heard about the crank too. The RB25's piston melts if you crank it to 1bar. I ain't got 15 grand for a 26.

I don't know why but I've always liked I-6's. Plus I want to be different and lots of people getting the SR. But hey, nothing is set in stone yet I'm still deciding. I might end up getting an SR but I wanted to get all the info.

I want this car to be a long term project. Something thats never done. I got some ideas in my head for later, and most of them involve the RB20.

do you know what the bore is on an RB20? WD correct me if I'm wrong, I don't have my FSM at the moment, but the RB20 has like a 78-79mm bore, the 25-26 has an 86mm one. You can't punch it up 7-8mm unless you want water-cooled pistons! You can use the RB26 crank and 4AGZE pistons to get a 2.3 I beleive but that's it.Think about it before you drop coin man.

I know where I went wrong. The RB26 pistons can be dropped into the RB25.

It's been a long day.

I almost did. Had to take off all hoses and pumps, take off the tranny, powerwash it then lift it into a truck, then take off and put on a pallet.

Fun, Fun, Fun.

The CR of the RB25 is 9.0/1. Therefore its quite capable of boosting to 20psi. You just have to have enough cold air and fuel.

I love the RB20, But I can blow them up all day over here and just pick up a new one at the junkyard for 150 bucks. The RB20 puts out silly amounts of hp with the A/F mix at a lean 12/1. But she pops after a couple of months.

The RB25 or 26 would be my choice. Actually in all honesty, I'm going to build a crazy KADET. Just cause I can...

once you get done with all work it comes to 10-15g's.

I think I've decided. I'm gonna go with the RB25DET. I'm gonna do it myself{with help} but I'll need some help with the harness. Other than that I think I can do it now.
