I got the enjuku hot pipe but I don't have the hose to clamp down the pipe. Can I get something at autozone to clamp down the pipe? I need something asap because I need to drive 2.5 hrs to get home, so buying some online is out of the question. Can i use a 2.25" radiator hose? Also, my swap unfortunately did not come with a actuator... is it safe to drive without it for 2.5 hrs? Not being able to control my boost sounds scary but I will try my best to not boost over 7 psi. This is kinda scary because after my first start on this motor, I will have to drive home a couple of days later... what are your suggestions?

Edit: another question.. is it safe to cut the sleeve on the throttle body cable? That sounds like the easiest way to rig that part of the swap... how do you keep the cable itself from sliding?

Your car may not boost at all without an actuator. You can rig something up for now from some rubber hose, but you need to get some silicone hoses.

On the throttle cable why not get an SR cable or a SOHC cable?

Well, I would have to go to a junk yard and find a 240 sohc. I go to school at a small *** town so it's realy hard to find stuff here... no boost is fine with me. Rather not boost than overboost! ;) I guess im just going to order a silicone hose from phase2. seeing that it's cheapest there.

The actuator is actually the boost limiter. Without it, your boost can go off the roof & potentially destroy your engine.

Another question. what does this line connect to?

That line connects to that black purge canister that used to be there. With no actuator holding the wastegate flapper closed the turbo will not boost at all.

so I don't need that line? so if i don't have a actuator, i will not boost? your second statement is kinda confusing..

edit: ok... i think i get it.. without the actuator keeping the flapper close, it will not boost. correct?

The actuator has a spring. That is what holds the flapper on the internal wastegate closed. Without an actuator nothing will hold the flapper closed and the exhaust will just blow it open. The turbo will not build any boost.

Drift has got it right.

No actuator: no boostActuator with no vacuum hose attached: boosts till it breaks

Oh I thought you don't have the actuator functioning. Now I understand, you don't have the actuator itself, lol. If that's the case, go ahead go WOT all the time, lol. It will feel like NA SR20DE I suppose.

even worse, at least a sr20de has high compression to give it some oomph. :D

It'll probably feel like a Hyundai Accent.

Another question for ya. What about the o2 sensor wire and maf sensor wire on the wiring harness? I know I am suppose to extend them but what about those wires that goes around the wire? seems to be protecting the wire or something?

It is sheilding to keep interferance out. Some places sell sheilded wire.

You have to extend the wires for the plug by close to 3 feet. I had to buy wire, but whatever.

I was just going to use the one off of the KA. Do you have the Greddy Type S? There are 2 nipples on the bov. I know one goes to the TB, where does the other one go to? is it... bov>mbc>wastegate?

I do not have anything connected to the thinner nipple.

There was a good post about it a few month ago. Some guy I believe used the line going to the wastegate and "T"ed into it for the bottom nipple. Then just connected the top on to the throttle body like the OEM one.I will look for the post.
