I am installing Taka SS turbo lines on my stock S13 SR20DET and want to make sure I do it right the first time. Here are a few questions I have:

1. The oil feed line I have uses the old Male to Male fitting from the line to the block, not the stock banjo fitting and bolt. I am using the .06 restricter fitting, that came with the lines, on the oil feed line into the turbo (Stock S13 SR20DET T25) When comparing it to my old hard lines, the hole in the restricter seems alot smaller then the hole in the stock banjo bolt or hard line. Will this starve my turbo of oil?

2. Do I need to use a crush washer between the oil feed fitting and my block? The fitting has an inverted flare, and I assume the block has an external flare. When I thread in the fitting to the block it goes all the way into the block without a crush washer. If I used a crush washer, I am not sure if the inverted and external flares would mate all the way, causing a leak, is this true?

3. Do I need to use thread tape on anything?

I want to make sure nothing leaks, I really don't want to pull everything apart again!

Same exact lines here, and I also used the silicone gasket. You could also use teflon, either way. Didn't your lines come with the washers though? copper washers, you should use those for the banjo and stuff.Well one piece of advice, because mine did leak when I installed them and had the motor in, MAKE sure to tighten EVERYTHING, and do not overtigthen them, try to be careful on that, some people do over do it and end up breaking them and causing a leak. But basically, everything is specific as to which goes where and to what, you can't really mix them. The banjo goes to the block, thats about the only one that might cause confusion. If you have pics, post them so we could check them out

Out of curiousity, why would you have to use teflon tape for the ss lines, when it is not used for the stock hard lines?

Actually 2 of the SS lines are for coolant and 1 is for oil. You use the stock oil drain line.

Heres a link that may help you see where that line is going behind the block. Look at the section where they show you how to re-route the heater hoses. In one of the pics you can see the coolant line that goes from the turbo to the metal hose behind the engine. This is what the SS line replaces and the reason why one of the SS lines comes w/ a clamp on one end of the lines.

idahotuner, i just finished my sr swap a few weeks back and still have everything fresh in my memory. If you need any help hit me up on AIM. My sn is akaruisan. The ground for the coilpacks goes onto the firewall. Theres should already be a bolt there to use.
