Hey I have some questions about replacing the stock engine on my 90 240sx. The engine is out of a same year with about 10,000 miles less. The problems i think I might run into is if I should pull the transmission out with the engine and then put it on or if I should just leave it in there and then hook it up. Also the engine came out of an auto so is there any pins or something I might need to add or take out. Thanks:help

was your previous motor hooked up to a 5 speed? if so you will need to swap the flywheel over.

well i might be able to help you out? I just did this swap myself. I would diefinitely take the transmission out with the motor. And make sure you take your motor mounts off the car and put them back on the engine, before you install the motor. It will make the job go alot smoother. Also make sure you switch the flywheel over to your other transmission. Before you put your new motor in I would definitely pull the timing cover and check your timing chain guides and make sure they are not shattered in the new motor. If they are replace them and make sure the chain did not wear a hole in water port. If it did take the cover and have the hole welded or look at your local junk yard for one. This might help you out a little? Good luck and have fun!
