I bought the MSD Digital 6+, Blaster HVC coil, Tach Adapter, and Accel plug wires for my 93' 240sx. How do you hook all this up? Wire colors would be most helpful. Where do most people put the ignition box? I'd like to keep it in the engine bay, but if theres a better place i'd like to know? The coil and tach adapter should be easy to mount any where.

Note to every one the HEI coils(Blaster SS, HVC, Blaster 3) have the wrong end on them for normal 240sx plug wires, so you have have to convert one end of the coil wire to HEI connection. Summit sells a kit, but theirs another $17.95 to spend.

easy to do. I would give you a write up, but there is already one available here. http://www.240sx.org look it up. The coil wire fix is easy you shouldn't pay that much

Do you know where I could get a picture of an MSD Ignition system installed on a S13 KA24DE? or what exactly is eliminated? are you suppose to leave the old 240sx coil and every that is attached to it half plug in after you cut the wires out of it? The 240sx.org install doesn't say what to do with the rest or what must be kept?

you can use the stock 240 coil, or get the better MSD SS coil. Actually anyone of the MSD coils will work, I just recommend the SS. The only thing that you will lose will be the stock 240 coil.

This is a good upgrade for high end pull btw.

I finally finished the ignition set up, it took for ever to make it look nice. I mounted the MSD box to the fire wall where the a/c lines used to run. I was soo sure the wiring was going to be much harder. The post on 240sx.org was confusing I think it could be better simplfied. S13 KA24DE (maybe others)MSD 6 series including SCI and SCI+ MSD coil, anyTach Adapter #8910Some type of high quality spark plug wires

green/black wire to stock coil, cut and connect to white MSD box and white Tach Adapter wires. red/black to stock coil, cut and connect to red MSD box and red tach adapter wires. orange MSD connect to positve coil terminal on any aftermarket coil(why use stock coil?). Black MSD connect to positve coil terminal on any aftermarket coil. Power wires Big Black(-) and Red(+) to battery terminals.

DON'T eliminate Control Modual that was mounted to stock coil, mount it some where out of the way. DON'T cut green wire loop on MSD Box

Spark plug gap can be open .05"-.06" for N/A stock compression, stock gap .043", I put mine at .05".

please correct me if I'm wrong, this worked for me.

wouldn't say this was a shot of NOS, but it definanly is noticeable. More responsive, and top end is much smoother and starts pulling a little earlier in the rpm band. it probably wasn't worth the price but it was simply enough(even though i spent several hours trying to make it pretty) and it can only help me more with any mods i do later.

you dont need to use the tach adapter. you can safely remove it and the system will still work, along with your tach. i just installed a 6+ on my brothers s13 with a blaster coil too. very simple install, had i read this before, id have posted it for you. glad to hear its running good. i also hooked up an nx system on his car with a 75 shot. very good power.

The tach adapter is only for the SOHC, since they use a different voltage on the tach signal.

I cut a peice of aluminum sheet and mounted my MSD 6AL to it then to the inside of the fender right behind the driver headlight. Its been there for over 6 years now and ive never had a problem with it.

How about the single wire that attaches to the spade lug on the side of the stock coil? Is that simply a ground?
