So I have an issue with my reverse lights. I put in a new switch and still no lights. Grounded out the wires and the light comes on. So I know that parts good. In lieu of pulling my hair out I am just going to install a manual toggle switch to control the reverse lights. Anyone have some advice on the best way to wire this in??

Without reviewing the FSM on a manual and auto, the reverse light sensor comes into the harness behind the passenger headlight. It will come into the main 8-connection connector next to the 3 smaller 3 connectors. On an auto, it comes in from the extra auto subharness to a different connector. In either case, you could run your switch wires out of the firewall to that location, and cut it in.

I don't think the manual switch idea is that great, it would be better to fix the circuit.

Awesome thank you for your reply. I agree with you and want to figure out the problem but want to have something to use in the meantime for safety.
