I have everything wired right (i think) but when I hit WOT, neither the fuel or nitrous solenoid clicks. I'm not using the microswitch setup the kit came with, i'm using the zex TPS switch kit. the way it works is it ties into the TPS, gets a power signal from the arming switch, and has 2 wires that go out to the fuel and nitrous solenoids, and a ground wire. Each solenoid wire can output up to 10 amps, each solenoid is rated at 8.6 amps, so i'm pretty sure the tps kit is not to blame. I'm guessing it's either a bad ground, or both my solenoids are dead.If anyone (aries?) has anything else I can check, speak up. I'm at a loss right now. Thanks

-Neil

Thats fairly easy to troubleshoot. Turn the car off but leave the ignition in AAC mode. Turn off N2O bottle. So you should now have no N2O or fuel going to the solenoid. If you have fuel pressure there, pull the fuel pump fuse. Next, move the throttle to WOT and check for voltage leaving the TPS switch, then check where it connects to the solenoids. A simple lighted circuit tester should work.

Let me know what you find out.

my roommate has a voltmeter/resistance checker, i'll see what I can find out with that. I havn't tapped the fuel line and the bottle is empty so no fuel or nitrous are supplied yet.

That brings up another question though... do i just tap the fuel line that goes from the filter to the fuel rail?

I think the TPS switch is bad. The LED works on it, but at WOT I don't get a reading off the solenoid leads with the circuit tester.

that could also be a bad connection on the wire inside the solenoid.Carefully remove the nut on the main pin and check the connections Just be sure that you put it back together like you found it.

So your getting power to the solenoids but they aren't turning on?

no, I don't think the TPS box is sending power to the solenoids. I sent zex an email, so we'll see what they say. The tps box will turn on, and i can go through programming it to my tps voltage, it just doesn't supply power to the solenoid wires when i hit WOT (at least as far as I can tell)I might try wiring up the microswitch/relay setup that NOS originally supplied and see if the solenoids work with that. Even if it all worked, I still havn't had a chance to get my walbro pump in, so I don't even know if running the 50 shot would be safe.

ok, well i feel like a total @SS. the reason my solenoids dont work is because i wired them up WRONG. I just realized from looking at the wiring diagram that the negative leads from the solenoids go to the TPS box not the positive. gonna go fix my dumb mistake, and hope my stupidity is the only thing wrong with my setup.

edit: yep, I offically can not follow simple wiring instructions. All I had to do was connect the 2 wires I had grounded, to a positive power source and put a fuse in. wow.

Ok, so i have the 50 shot jets in, i'm guessing that will be fine with my stock fuel pump? I'd really like to fill the bottle and give it a run tomorrow.thanks again guys.

Well I run a aeromotive fuel rail and 42lb injectors with 12lbs of boost and a stock pump. So you should be fine with the 50 shot.

I will as soon as i can snag my friend didital camera again. I ran the 50 shot today, not a bad little kick. I didn't get to retard the timing any, im having some issues with the tps reading 3% throttle when I pull the TPS plug... i'll figure that out later, i think it has to do with the tps nitrous switch. but so far so good, and the 10lb fill was only 30 bucks. not too bad right?

Still trying to get pics, but have been through a 10lb. bottle on the 50 shot, no timing retard, and it still runs like a champ. I pulled the plugs, as far as i can tell, no detonation or anything, and doesnt look like the plugs are overheating. Im no expert so i'll take pics of those too to see what you guys think.Next on the list is a new clutch though. I keep roasting it shifting into third. Ouch. I still think its weird that a nitrous fill is cheaper than a tank of gas. oh well, spray on!
