johnparkyourcar wrote:hey nate so should i get a compressor? the only thing i think we would need it for is to remove the oem spring since i got the h&r spring already on the shocks. unless youre able to remove the oem shock without taking the spring out? i got some pb blaster and i'll bring what little tools i have maybe it'll come in handy...
The compressor might make the install a little easier, but it's not absolutely necessary. Quick question: What exactly are you doing to your suspension? I've gathered that you're swapping out the stock springs for H&Rs and I see tokico blues, but are you keeping any of the stock shocks? If not, then the just the bearing plate(?) needs to be swapped and the spring/shock combo installed.

Also, you set aside money for an alignment right?

i have the h&r springs and tokico shocks. but it was used so the springs are already on the front shocks. am i making any sense? im a noob with anything suspension... as for alignment i have another paycheck coming next week so i figured thats long enough for the springs to settle.

i installed the muffler this morning and that thing freaking growls. its too loud.... my roommate said it sounded like a mitsu eclipse the next free day i have im gonna uninstall it.

vivek i can help you with the muffler. yours should be easier than mine id assume. my stock muffler was heavy as hell... when i got everything unscrewed and off it just fell to the ground. i was not expecting it to be that heavy.

i guess i can keep the muffler on until then. its almost ricer-ish... btw what day is good for you? im free all day on fri and sun.

I was hoping to do it Saturday so I'd have a "recovery" day (got a lot of other car stuff to do on Saturday too that's why).

I'm not really thrilled with the idea of working through the night like we did on Vivek's car. Otherwise, I'd suggest Friday evening (I work until 5).

Let me talk to the wifey and I'll let you know if Sunday will work.

YA (russian accent).

What are you doing Monday? That might be easier for both of us. It's MLK day and I have the day off.

Email me or give me a call. I just found out that early Sunday is open.

I'm going to try to paint and install my GT Spec bar and MAYBE some new brakes. We'll see.

Why? Does the queen want to help? lol.

John hasn't gotten back to me yet. I set aside today to help him, but...

I'll probably be putting on my GT Spec Rear Lateral brace today. I was going to lay some Carbon Fiber, but... I'm lazy and I really need vacuum bagging materials.

What you up to?

use some lube on the bolts. let it sit for a few minutes. you should not need any power tools for any of the bolts pictured above.

No need for power tools. You need some leverage. I would make sure that the socket you are using is a 6 side, not a 12 side so that you get maximum grip and don't strip the nut.

Spray with WD-40 or PB Blaster 2 or 3 times. Let the grease soak in for 10 min.

Crank those nuts. You need some extension. I use the end of the floor jack handle that comes apart. By using a breaker bar you will be able to break those nuts loose.
