Ya, I hear a lot of places in the South are closed on Sunday's. My Granny was from Texas and said that if you got caught drinking booze, or even playing cards on Sunday's you would be looked down upon.

Possible... but why would it have a bigger space in the underbody for the exhaust? Hmm... I'm gonna try to find a pic of a 1.8 exhaust system...

I just wanted to say that winnie isn't the only one who's a bit frustrated. I almost missed my great aunt's sixtieth birthday party because the parts didn't fit right. If you guys wanna see what a look like (red in the face from holding a resonator up) I'm the guy in the pick holding the resonator up. Anyway, I would just like to say (mostly to winnie) that it'll end up right eventually and that he shouldn't stress about it. But the exhaust was messed up.

OWNED! This mofo is on *****es. Me and my dad just did it. The hangers are incorrect, I will be taking it to Sharpsburg Muffler on Monday to get them adjusted. The one nearest the axle slid right on, then we bent one of the rear ones (passenger side) a little to get it to slide in the rubber a bit, THEN we used thick steel wire tied around the driver's side rear hanger and the rubber in front of it to keep it in place. It looks a little off, but I'll get it un-ghetto-rigged on Monday, sounds pretty sweet, I'm about to go show Atha how wrong you guys were... I won't be able to really push it yet, I don't trust that somewhat iffy hanger setup, but I'll be able to hear it under load at least a bit, WEEEEEEEE!

Many apologies for my overreactions, but my friends really did give up on it... it was quite disheartening.

edit: Just took her for a spin... oh wow... after a little driving I came to trust that ghetto hanger just a tiny bit more and... wow, that was rewarding... it's like a friggin' grizzly bear with a bad case of the munchies... the SCARIEST N/A 4cyl I've ever heard in person (I've heard SE-Rs with a header in vids, that's pretty scary... but I may have them beat!)... I'm a bit scared to do a header, so boost may be the better option, otherwise... well it'll be insanely loud, rather than monstrously loud... at higher RPMs it actually blends with the roar of the CAI, it's like a chorus of doom... wow... I'm addicted, I turned the radio on only when cruising (it's pretty quiet in 5th at 40-60mph)... at idle, you can hardly tell it's not stock, so the average Joe will only know by looking (or hearing me start up, launch, or shut down, lol).

Vids as soon as I get her hung right and we get the chance to take them, I do have a startup vid, I'll try to get it posted tonight.

Oh, and of course, the power. Throttle response, particularly in the low rpms, is noticeably improved. It also pulls harder, longer. That is that in the torque band I already had (car makes full torque through 3k-5.5k) it has just a bit more oomph, but additionally, the car continues to pull 5-6k as hard as it does 3.5-5k. Low end torque does not seem to have suffered much, if at all, and the additional throttle response more than makes up for it.

Besides the fitment issues, I'm INCREDIBLY pleased with this thing already.

Full-on WOT violence will come later, that's just a taste. I hope those work... the links from WTDR are a little iffy...

edit: Rumor is that link 2 doesn't work... Does it?

Hmmm... I'm convinced that site hates me... my bro says you can't hear anything in the vid anyway (though I'd argue you can hear enough to get by)... whatever, I'll get the good vids soon and coerce them into work... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Also, I dont think you need much help installing an exhaust. I reinstalled my exhaust in about half an hour by myself, and most of that time was spent bending the cat's heat shield so I can align the exhaust with the bolts. Good luck though. Third time's a charm right? :D

HEY!

Im a Murphy, and i can tell you its true especially when it comes to cars. Its better to just not eff everthing up to make something fit...tried and true, unfortunately. Just ask me sometime about my vlsd. :(

We didn't have to do too much to get it to fit for now. The muffler shop will take care of it great, so it's no big deal.
