Most dealerships offer #-pt. inspections on every vehicle. Ask that the inspection checklist be copied and given to you as a list of what has been checked. Now, say you buy a car and two days later the brakes are shot. Rummage thru and find the clause that says they checked the brakes. If they did not denote that the brakes were not in 100% working order, ie sufficient brake pad depth. Then the tech is responsible for paying for the new work.

I know cause we have to do this at Mazda :rolleyes

Either way, it's a good tool to PROTECT yourself with. Not one to ABUSE... as you'll be screwing over the tech if you do something shady.

If you have AAA, I think if you pay them $50 or something, they'll do a full vehicle inspection for you. :)

I intend to use this service on my next vehicle prior to paying for it. :)
