i dont know why its soft all my friends cars are pretty hard but mine might even be softer then my gas pedal and sometimes it doesnt like "bounce back" so it will stay a little bit unengaged so when i shift and start going like its slipping any ideas?

If the pedal is that soft, and starts coming up slowly, it may be air in the system, or time to get dirty.Could be the master cylinder or the slave cylinder fixing to clock out. Considering the cost (about $50 with a small bottle of brake fluid), and work involved, I would suggest replacing both at the same time. Be a good way to kill an hour and maybe a 6 pack at the same time.

did u ever figure this out? i have the same problem. new master, new slave, bled out multiple times... still super soft clutch. engages fine and pretty consistantly, just super soft pedal. could this be a pressure plate problem?

i noticed the other day when we were bleeding it, i was able to hold the clutch fork (that the slave presses against) in the trans back by hand. is this normal?

if you replaced all that frosti and its still doing that then its your Pressure plate. it most likely depends on what kind you got hooked up than it might be goin bad. i got a just a new oem clutch pack and i hate the Pressure Plate its sooo soft. its to soft, i wanna upgrade to the exedy aftermarket clutch pack its more than likely harder.

if the clutch is not fully disengaging, might want to also try adjusting the clutch pedal.

my clutch fully disengages... and fully engages as well. the pedal just feels super soft.

with a clutch that is in good working order, is it easy to hold the throw out fork back with your hand once the slave has pushed it out? i can do that with mine, but i dont think its supposed to be that easy?

it just depends on how hard or soft of a pressure plate you got in there, that is surprising to me that you can pull on it with your hand but its definitely nothing wrong with the fork, that just slides forward and back and you said you replaced your master and slave cylinder, so there nothing left but the Pressure plate.

check the rubber line going to the slave cylinder. it could be clogged with debris or rubber etc. i saw on another forum someone had a similar problem with debris in the rubber line making pedal spongy.

I second that one.. I went from exedy stage 2 to OEM and from OEM to Master clutch stage 4 i think.. ..It's the 4 puck disc

And the pressure plate makes the difference big time!

OEM was really soft, exedy stage to was somewhat decent..

Now i get super grip! Every time through out the whole powerband..

But driving through LA downtown traffic is really a b****!

did you eliminate the clutch dampner on the pass side frame rail?

this could be a good reason why its soft
