Sorry if this topic has been addressed, but I am FREAKING put. Car dorve fine, I put it up on stands to put on my new wheels and tires and my HICAS rear sway bar. When I took the car down to drive it to the car wash, I turned on the car and this CRAZY clicking noise starts. I checked my oil and it is for some reason high (like the dip stick is really high up, over the H) Anyone have any ideas? I am terrified what the answer is gonna be...

BTW, I drove the car around and:1) The noise only happens below 3000 RPM2) There is no loss of power or acceleration3) Pulled valve cover and there seems to be nothing amiss

My car does this sometimes. I think its the timing chain guides. The tapping does stop after a few minutes tho.

If it sounds like metal tapping on metal....like a wrench tapping on your engine block you could be detonating. if your running low octain fuel try putting in 89-93 octain and see if the problem goes away...an easy way to check this without goin to a gas station is to take off your air cleaner, take a propane torch and stick the head in the air intake runner. open the torch up and see what happens. propane is about 105 octain and the ticking should stop, if detonation is te problem. but check the lifters as well.
